MARKERS
For this course we will be using alcohol-based markers. There are many brands to choose from, but we will want a few markers on hand so that we can create a monochromatic value scale for our sketch.
Choose one of the following groups:
🔲 Copic Sketch — Walnut (E59), Milk Chocolate (E27), Light Walnut (E57), Caribe Cocoa (E25), Hazelnut (E23), and Light Camel (E55)
🔲 Blick Studio Brush Markers — Warm Gray 80% (060), Warm Gray 70% (059), Warm Gray 60% (58), Warm Gray 50% (57), Warm Gray 40% (56)
🔲 Ohuhu Art Markers — Warm Gray 09 (WG090), Warm Gray 07 (WG070), Warm Gray 05 (WG050)
GRAPHITE TRANSFER PAPER
This is the product that we’ll use to transfer our design onto our painting surface.
MIXING PLATES
For this course we’ll just be using simple disposable paper plates for our paint mixing surface. This is what I use, but you can use any sturdy paper plate you can find.
Paint Tub
I use a paint tub to store my mixed paints. Acrylic paint can dry quickly, so sealing them in a paint tub assures they will stay usable.
EASEL
This is what I use, but there are many alternatives to choose from.
Brush/Water Cup
Have a cup of water handy to put your brushes in after using them. Any cup can work, as long as you don’t mind it getting dirty. Be sure the cup you use for this is heavy and stable enough that it won’t accidentally tip over
Here is the water cup I use for reference:
🔲 Richeson Stainless Steel Canister
These brush cleaners can be placed in the bottom of your water cup to help clean your brushes. They’re certainly handy, but not required.
