Every year I go up north with friends to explore the freshwater lakes and wild woods of the beautiful Northwoods. This vast forested region stretches across a wide swath of the northern US and southern Canada. We travel to camp by canoe, hauling everything we need in large bags. This scene is what you look for in a great camp site – facing west for the sunset views and hopefully a breeze to blow the skeeters away. It’s always fun to have some rocks to muck about on, too.
