I was out driving these back roads with my youngest son and my dad when we spotted this big oak tree standing alone in a field. Since it wasn't at the fence line we wondered why they had left it there. Maybe it had a special meaning? Or maybe something cherished is buried there? Or maybe it was just too hard to clear. Whatever the reason, I'm glad they left it. Now it's part of this painting and when I look at it I'll always think about driving around with my dad and my son. I hope you enjoy!
