Some 25 years ago, my wife Heather and I lived high up in the mountains of Colorado. I really wanted to paint this scene because it reminded me so much of the area where we lived. Fall is stunning in the Colorado rockies. Shocks of yellow aspens light up in the clear sunshine and fresh snow has started to cover the peaks. Thanks to @santomarco for letting me use his beautiful photo as a reference for this painting. I hope you like the results!
