Sea Bench

from $35.00

There's a lot more to this painting than you might think. First off, it's based on a photo series from UK painter Michael Newton (@blackdog54). Michael has been posting photos of this bench in all different types of weather for some time now. Sometimes there's people, but often there is nothing but the potential for people. And of course that epic view. There's a quiet, slightly lonely mood to his series that I find beautiful. It's a mood I find in my own work so it's nice to see it in his, too.

As for this painting, I had every intention of filling in the giant red foreground with something more, um, realistic, but after trying many different ideas, I decided I liked it the way it was. Enjoy!

All prints are professionally printed using archival inks on a special tightly-woven canvas that we then mount onto wood panels. No further framing is required, but can be if desired.
