Sea Caves

These stunning rock formations are part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in northernmost Wisconsin on the shores of the greatest of the great lakes, Lake Superior. These pristine sandstone islands get hammered by wicked storms and relentless waves creating the carved beauty you see here. This is one of my favorite spots on earth. You can only get to them by boat and only when the wind is favorable. Luckily, we were able to poke around in them on a recent misty morning and it was fun to try to capture the moment here in paint. All prints are professionally printed using archival inks on a special tightly-woven canvas that we then mount onto wood panels. No further framing is required, but can be if desired.
